Delilah Green Doesn't Care
by Ashley Herring Blake
The recap
Delilah Green left her small hometown of Bright Falls behind as soon as she could, and she has no intention of lingering now. The only reason she has come back is the money. Her polished, perfectionist stepsister Astrid is getting married, and Delilah has been hired to photograph two weeks of wedding preparations and the big day itself. Astrid has never seemed to want her around. Then there is Claire Sutherland, one of Astrid's bridesmaids, who is not looking forward to the wedding either and has serious doubts about the man Astrid has chosen. Thrown together by the festivities, Delilah and Claire strike sparks almost at once. Ashley Herring Blake writes queer romance with real heat and humour, but the heart of the novel lies in its portrait of a family: the grief, resentment and longing that can harden between siblings, and the chance of finding a place to belong after all. It is snappy, emotional and very grown-up.
Why read it
For readers who like their sapphic romance with sharp banter, real chemistry and a generous helping of family drama.
